Project START by Mumsbooth is a program aimed at training women and girls with Entrepreneurial, Vocational and Digital skills to enable them START a business and to equip them with tools needed to thrive in this technology-driven world
The first Edition of Project START by Mumsbooth held on the 26th of October 2017 in Abuja, Nigeria. We held several programs in different cities like Jos, Uyo, Kano and Jigawa in Nigeria and moved on to other cities in Africa.
These women are brought into our community, mentored and provided with access to funding to help them grow and a market place to sell and showcase their products and services.
Our Girls in Tech program empowers young girls between the ages 10 and 19 on Tech and basic digital skills, use of computers, robotics and AI tools, bridging the gap of access to technology by providing effective tutoring on digital skills and age-appropriate high-quality content to girls in Nigeria, mentoring and providing internship and job opportunities for them through our Project Start Academy
We have since reached over 15,000 women and 2,500 children across Africa cities in Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana and South Africa through our programs
We aim to reach as many women and girls in our community, training them on Entrepreneurial and digital skills. We are saying No to Poverty, providing jobs, and creating a sustainable economy, and actively working towards achieving sustainable development goals: SDGs 1, 2, 4, and 8.
